Classy grey tartan trilby hat, handmade in Italy in the 80s, Pedrotti Hats maker, NOS

Classy and elegant grey tartan trilby hat; wool outside and satin/synthetic silk inside. It’s a very iconic and classic style, still elegant but at the time it was designed, back in the 40s/50s, this was the “sporty” version of the classic fedora, which was always made in felt (castor, bunny and so on) and with a larger brim and a different crown shape. Inside, the inner lining reads “Chapeaux de Luxe” (luxury hat literally). Made in Italy, it comes from unused, mint deadstock, part of a lot we got selecting some of the remaining stock from Pedotti’s close-out, an iconic, antique hat shop in Trento that sadly closed for good back in the 80s.
