Jean Lempereur black woodline aviator or square sunglasses, NOS 1980s
Jean Lempereur woodline aviator shaped sunglasses in real black wood, rare pieces hand crafted in France in the 1980s.
Early wooden frames, rare and made to the highest quality standards in a multilayered wood with flexible spring brass hinges to make them fit perfectly.
Nowadays is common, and some years ago even trendy wearing (and making) wooden shades, but back in time, making frames in wood was just prerogative of a few artisanal, high end luxury brands.
While today they mostly use bamboo, at the time just rosewood, ebony, teak and bubinga were the woods of choice (and still are for serious wooden frames) for their lightness and strength.
the black wood variations come in square shape, (down 1st pic) fitted with a light amber lens or in aviator shape, (up) fitted with grey fade lenses.
New and unworn from a deadstock, in mint condition.
